HELLO EVERYONE,

I hope you're all enjoying the heatwave. I don't like the heat, even though I was born here in the UK and raised in a hot country, Nigeria. 

I haven't written in a while. But that's because I've been working on a new manuscript. As some of you may know, I write crime fiction stories and educate others to tell their stories.  

  However, I  also do other things. For instance, I've signed up to attend a few pop-up events. 

I also work out regularly at the gym near my flat.

I'm practically having a blast there with my personal trainer and learning loads from him too. My one focus and target is to enhance my lifestyle doing this because I have cerebral palsy and I really want to watch my weight as well.  I want to cut down on my eating and drinking habits. 

My disability is something I've never spoken about before or even in great detail.  It's never come up in anything I do. But if the truth were to be told, my disability has come up in every single thing that I have done since babyhood. That's why I've invested my time and energy now to make strides in this direction. And that's learning more about my medical condition. So, I've got cerebral palsy, and I've had it since childhood and right now at this moment in time I'm exploring numerous options to enhance my life with it.

 For instance, learning from the best, like my personal trainer whose name I won't mention. And building strategies that unfold training techniques and nutritional advice.  In addition to all that, learning more about my disability and taking steps to understand the challenges behind it. Now, since doing this, I've learnt that the Cerebral Palsy Movement is taking steps to build a strong community in the UK. So, what more can one want when pursuing knowledge that unfurls gems of wisdom to invigorate one's lifestyle and hone into the extremities of one's formative core. In other words, developing and attaining a stronger and better self

Some may believe I may be wasting my time doing this. But I strongly believe that with serious research and a tailor-made programme, this can be achieved. So, I'm learning a lot these days and making up for lost time for not knowing much about my condition. And one thing stands out. My personal trainer thinks it takes a lot of guts to do what I'm doing. I just need to stay mentally fit and strong to focus on achieving great results with all this, and there's a ton to learn as well. 

Having said all that, it hasn't stopped me from following the latest gossip and watching the first three episodes of the fourth instalment of LEE CHILD's JACK REACHER mystery thriller series on PRIME TV. And it hasn't stopped me from continuing work on my newest manuscript. 

I'm excited for the readers and the fans with this particular story because this new mystery is dynamite. One thing's for sure: I can't resist the challenge of solving a good mystery or getting myself wrapped up in a suspense thriller adventure story, and that's probably why I've invested my time creating this series featuring the Rattlesnake, aka the Expendable PI.

I am going to stay mentally strong. I am going to stay physically fit. And I am going to reach the top of the mountain, so help me, GOD.

Hello EVERYONE,

I hope you're all well. 

I've been trying to get something off my chest for quite some time now. Nothing major. But, something critically serious all the same. 

I'm a great wrestling fan. In fact, I've followed WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) since my boyhood. And I must tell you, the excitement I derive from watching professional wrestling and sports entertainment hasn't waned in any way. 

My all-time favourite WWE wrestler was Bret 'the Hitman' Hart and probably SHAWN MICHAELS AKA 'the Heartbreak Kid' because he was equally amazing in the ring and had all the charisma in the world to go with it. 

 I've been wondering when Nigeria and other neighbouring African countries will be able to create a wrestling platform for professional wrestling and the sports entertainment Business. 

 I'm sure we have talented young men and women who will be able to fill the employment gap in that direction by becoming professional athletes and sports entertainers. It also reminds me of the late great Michael Okpala AKA Power Mike of Nigeria, who was incidentally another favourite wrestler of mine. 

Power MIKE was born in 1939 and passed away in 2004. 

He was one of Africa's biggest wrestling stars. He fought internationally, even in the United States of America. 

At one point in his illustrious career, he was a world heavyweight champion. He retired undefeated with about 125 wins. 

After he retired, he created Power Mike promotions. The company brought international wrestlers to Nigeria, who filled stadiums with crowds of tens of thousands. 

Power Mike was literally a legend during this time.  After his reign as a champion, the wrestling scene declined, and his promotion didn't evolve into a long-lasting wrestling organisation like the WWE. 

The Nigerian Wrestling Business:

 Needs a real makeover to start with.

 

It should have training schools where athletes can learn the craft and formative styles of wrestling they choose. 

There should be an amateur wrestling platform attached to it. 

The business must construct a developmental system that can run things smoothly for the talent. 

The wrestling business system should build a storytelling domain. It should have a cohesive programme that falls back on sports entertainment, just like the WWE. 

The product should thrive and shine in this direction because, as far as I know,  Nigerians have a strong sense of entertainment culture, which includes Nollywood film, music and drama.

Additionally, there should be a streaming and digital service,

 This will take care of media coverage, adverts, and other services. For instance, Public relations, publicity, and marketing communications services within the industry. There should also be endorsements, sponsorship programmes developed around the business, and more importantly, a dependable brand that can operate effectively.

The wrestling business, as a definitive product, should create opportunities for the talent they nurture.

 Despite everything, there should be a strong collaborative effort that gives meaning to the word enterprise. This explores other business facets that may or may not have anything to do with the wrestling business as a product or brand.

Youth culture and an African alliance: 

 Nigeria's youth culture could probably form an African alliance with other wrestling brands. So bearing that in mind, what do you guys think? Should the Nigerian professional wrestling business add facets that introduce sports entertainment content and great storytelling from a cultural background?

HELLO EVERYONE,

I can’t believe that World Book Day and International Women’s Day have come and gone without my noticing. I think it’s because I’ve been busy and focused on attending other events.

I attended the Melanin Conference on March 7, 2026, at Trinity Church Hall, 90 Hodford Road, Golders Green, London, NW11 8EG. I really enjoyed the showcase and had the opportunity to meet a few people who were interested in learning about melanin. The entire program was focused on health and well-being. And of course, the study of the pigmentation of the skin.

There were stalls where vendors could promote their merchandise.

But this is where my story really begins.

I am a pop-up seller, and I’ve built my mini business around the pop-up business model. I sell a variety of items whenever I can. I've faced criticism from some who try to dictate my path, especially when they discover that I am also a local crime fiction novelist. 

One person wandered over to my stall, intrigued by my display, and asked me, "What exactly are you selling, and how does it relate to the overall programme for the day?"

He had a point.

I wasn't a health professional, and I wasn't selling any health supplements. The fact is, I was invited by the proprietor, who was a family friend. I was also given a stall to showcase my merchandise. I normally have bags, coffee cups, key rings, openers and kids' books to name just a few.  

The young man didn't want to admit that the items I had in my stall were of no use to him. Eventually, he left, taking photos of some of my goods. Sometimes I wonder what goes through the minds of potential customers who show interest in what I display and sell.  You can't win them all. 

The truth is this: I've always been told to be the best version of myself, regardless of the circumstances. There are no excuses—no ifs, no buts, no maybes, as my godfather would say. I might have been mistaken for bringing my wares to the Melanin Conference Day, but you know what? I have no regrets. I am a pop-up artist, and I can set up my stall anywhere to sell my goods.

I've encountered cynical individuals who tried to make my work seem peculiar. That changed when I embraced my identity as a pop-up artist and a local mystery adventure novelist with a global influence.

In conclusion, my condolences go to the family of CHUCK NORRIS, who passed away on the 19th March 2026. He was a man's man and a real American hero. In fact, a true inspiration.

My apologies for mistaking Tom Hiddleston for Tom Hollander on my Facebook account. My sincere apologies. 

Tom Hiddleston is brilliant as the fictional secret agent named Jonathan Pine in the BBC series The Night Manager.  Pine's stronger embodiment as a character is aligned with his persona as an imposter spy figure. It makes him quite unique. Pine reminds me of another fictional spy, Gregory Sallust, created by Dennis Wheatley.  

However, I'm not the only one who makes such mistakes. After all, another writer called the Tom Hiddleston character 'Christopher Pine' instead of 'Jonathan Pine'. Anyway, there are simply no reasons for making such mistakes. However, the mind can be thinking about a thousand and one things.   

Some might attribute this to a mental block or simply a mere mental incapacity. Nothing strange these days.  But let's drop the negativity straitjacket because it's not part of my framework.

I’ve been known to take risks with my craft. I follow in the footsteps of Michael Jackson and the PSQUARE duo, consisting of PSQUARE and RUDEBOY. Their songs and the narratives behind their writing reflect a pursuit of excellence. Their craft is connected to a universal language that reveals the intricacies of society. The result is fresh and exciting music.

I'm sure many American and African music superstars are sailing on the same ship, along with authors like Lee Child, Scott Blade, Matt Hilton, and Walter Mosley, to name just a few. These well-known authors share similar journeys in their respective writing genres.

 I love the way I gravitate towards my way of telling local crime fiction stories. It's all part of a magical process when creating a masterpiece or a series of books. That's why I can relate to the beautiful storytelling of the LE CARRE spy books and the characters in the Jonathan Pine universe.  I must say this, though: The Night Manager's archnemesis, Roper, gives me the jitters. He probably could be a noteworthy adversary for the likes of  Star Wars' DARTH VADER.  He has those chilling qualities. 

When creating and adapting stories, you have to take favourable risks and, most importantly, research them as well. It helps to boost one's confidence and highlights one's experiences. And, it makes you stand out. 

That's why I plan to embark on a quest to help others and learn more about myself, drawing on my experience as a local crime fiction author and self-publishing advocate. It's going to be quite the adventure. 

This starts with highlighting the second free adventure writing session on the 28th of February 2026  at Walthamstow Central Library, E17 7JN. I've got some knowledge to share and goodies to give away. Come ONE. Come ALL on that date because the session will be another exciting event. On that note, I bid you farewell. One more thing. Memories with a Rattlesnake!

I can't believe it's been a year since the release of my second paperback thriller, titled *Shades of Falcon: The Crooked Deal Vol. 2*. I'm excited to share that the Rattlesnake will be returning in another action-packed mystery adventure!

You might think you've seen everything with Mac, but think again. The Expendable PI is just getting started, and he'll be back to battle the wicked. The big question is: who will he face? If you've kept up with Mac's adventures, you’ll know he has amassed a considerable rogues' gallery of men and women over time.

It seems that Jarrett has another date with destiny, and so does his sidekick, the noble journeyman. C.E. M.A.W.—which stands for C.E. Mechanics of Adventure Writing—is starting its free workshops and may also offer masterclasses soon. Starting from January 31, 2026, the mobile one-stop shop for everything related to adventure writing, as well as writing in general, will kick off its first session of the year at Walthamstow Central Library, E17 7JN.

Join us for an exciting time! Let's talk about inspiration. We become the inspiration we wish to see in ourselves. My father used to sing a song, even if it was out of tune. The song was "Everything's going to be alright," by the Jamaican reggae singer Bob Marley. On the other hand, another legend, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, once said during a television interview that he wouldn’t sing a song unless he truly meant it. Michael sang with passion and danced into greatness, becoming the world's greatest pop star—truly inspirational.

We can all inspire and benefit one another. You never know where it could lead. Inspiration doesn't grow on trees; it starts with you!

Merry Christmas to all of you, and Happy New Year!

Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes on December 5th, 2025. This time of year often involves explaining my creative projects, but I won’t delve into that in this message.

I’m excited to announce that my free adventure writing workshop will begin in the New Year!

I have two dates scheduled: January 31, 2026, and February 28, 2026, at Walthamstow Central Library, High St, London E17 7JN.

I plan to reintroduce favourite pieces like The Noble Journeyman and The Rattlesnake at libraries and other outlets. The first set of free lessons will take place at Walthamstow Central Library, and I will share more details soon.

Next year, the mechanics of adventure writing will officially be known as CE Mechanics, reflecting my unique approach to teaching this craft.

 THE EXPENDABLE PI GETS  IT'S VERY FIRST JIGSAW PUZZLE.   

IT'S HALLOWEEN AND IT'S BLACK HISTORY MONTH. AND THINGS ARE JUST GETTING STARTED. 

HALLO EVERYONE,

I hope this piece meets you in good spirits. I can't believe its almost December and the weather is becoming somewhat unbearable in my humble opinion. These days there are dark skies and it is dreary, wet and extremely cold and this gives an indication there is cold weather coming and that means winter is making its come back real soon. We are currently in Autumn. But, it sure does feel like we are in the winter season.

I went to meet a friend somewhere in Tottenham. I'm not going to mention names. She's a good woman and a brilliant children's author. She also writes books for adults too.  Anyway, we met at a local eatery and guess what? After exchanging pleasantries she gave me a present wrapped in a brown envelope. It was a copy of my second mystery thriller SHADES OF FALCON: THE CROOKED DEAL VOL 2 but, now designed as a jigsaw puzzle. I just couldn't believe it! 

I didn't know you could design a book cover as a jigsaw puzzle. Amazing! My friend's present was just a reminder these days anything is possible especially with the advent of artificial intelligence and technology.

I'm now working on my fourth manuscript. And I'll talk about that another time. However, I choose to digress a little bit in order to bring up a few things that happened at the Black History month celebrations.  

Anyway, there were lessons to be learnt at the Black History month event I attended on the 31st of October 2025. And, one of them was always be prepared. 

I was invited to do a short talk on my writing journey and self-publishing at my friend's BHM 2025 event which took place at the Angel Community Centre in Edmonton . 

I wasn't really prepared to do anything because I had come to promote my work as a pop up artiste and enjoy the squalor of the occasion. But, there I was dragged along to do this talk which I thoroughly enjoyed because of the questions and the process. 

There were three slots in this showcase. The first two slots were obviously jam packed with verve and information. A lesson in Black History took the first slot and then a Reggae choral group sang their hearts out because it was coincidentally Bob Marley Day.  So, after all that I had to come up with an amazing plan to keep the audience agog with expectation again and it worked perfectly. Thanks to the host of the hour and my esteemed friend (whose name I will not mention).

The Quotes for this particular event were thus: 

Franklin Thomas- 'one day our descendants will think it incredible that we paid attention to things like the amount of melanin in our skin or the shape of our eyes or our gender instead of the unique identities of each of us  as complex  human beings'. AND

Michelle Obama-History has shown us courage can be contagious, and hope can take on a life of its own.

All in all it was a very good event because I sold my books and promoted my work and I got to learn so much about my Black History. The audience who asked me questions got to learn what it took to be a self-published author in this day and age and walked away from the event with the ideal nature of the self-published author's unique work ethic.

ACCEPT WHO YOU ARE!

Hello Everyone

The Mac Logan Certification  to Thrill acknowledges Nigeria's Independence Day. Nigeria is now 65 years of age since it let go of  Britain's colonial rule. That's no small feat. Ever since that happened there have been changes, challenges, adaptations and that Nigerian grind to survive in the country  no matter what. 

For instance, the Nollywood Industry has dramatically  undergone a great change from when it first started. They've practically joined the streaming bandwagon and have followed in the footsteps of tv and film conglomerates to make their name heard and seen on such streaming networks like Netflix. And they keep coming up with new concepts to renovate the industry.

I'm sure with the advent of Social media and the Internet these days there have equally been numerous changes in the book industry over there as well.  And a good number of charities and NGOs are jumping on board to promote short stories, different genres, non fiction books to develop communities, creative writing workshops and the list goes on. But, I guess that's how you develop yourself  and become number one so.....

ACCEPT WHO YOU ARE AND THE REST WILL FOLLOW

I hope this piece  really finds you all well. 

It's been a long while. However, there are reasons for not making contact. And one of them is simply because my attention  has been steered in other creative directions. 

One of them being to develop and write the newest gripping EXPENDABLE PI thriller.  However, when saying all that I almost jumped out of my skin  when someone I knew stopped me yesterday on the street as I was going to a scheduled meeting and asked politely, when was I going to bring back the man called JARRETT? 

That really made me laugh. It also made me think. And then I came to the conclusion that I must set my standards high. I must learn to sell my products to readers who've become hardcore fans. I know there are readers around the world and more importantly, people who belong to the digital community  who may want to network with my unique brand .

 Therefore developing  a roadmap for success to take me through certain channels in order to sell my work is now a core factor. I have to remind myself sometimes that I am a self publishing advocate and a local crime thriller author who chose to take up the pop up model route to sell my work. There have been no regrets whatsoever doing that.

RESEARCH AND  KNOWLEDGE AND EMPOWERMENT are the key words to manifest my publishing dreams and aspirations so what are you waiting for? Jump on the bandwagon of LOVE AND INSPIRATION and become that champion that forges ahead no matter what. Remember never take what you do for granted. And, remember there are a thousand and one ways of making your voice or your writing showcased via the Self Publishing space.

I AM A BRIT-NIGERIAN, BUT, THE LATE GREAT HULK HOGAN WAS TRULY A REAL AMERICAN

I hope you're all enjoying the Summer holidays, 

My condolences go to the family of the late great Terry Bollea AKA the Immortal Hulk Hogan- the leader of HULKAMANIA. 

I must say he made a believer out of me, Hulk wasn't really my favourite wrestler. Bret 'the hit man' was. But without Hulk there wouldn't be the likes of the Hitman in the first place, This was because Hulk was the embodiment of the sports entertainment Industry he helped to create with Vince McMahon, 

Hulk Hogan was also a larger than life character who transcended into other things, 

For instance he was the very foundation of wrestling as a sport, he was hugely popular as a cultural icon. He was a film star and a celebrity super star who out grew  his household name status and in my humble opinion was America's true flag bearer. Hulk had the Midas touch and everything he did or touched changed into gold instantly. He had few equals in the wrestling ring. And he was even a better man outside the squared circle. He was the epitome of motivation and hope and faith, In other words he was the manifestation of great inspiration.  But, he was still a human being who was flawed. He made mistakes, But, who doesn't? I'm sure everyone does.

So, what are you going to do when HULKAMANIA runs wild on you? I believe HULKAMANIA will live forever. And I have my reasons for saying so. But, I guess all that has nothing to do with knowing that a great man and a generational talent has passed on,

Now what has all this got to do with my crime fiction thriller writing? 

I am a local crime fiction thriller writer with an international appeal. And I have always interjected mystery writing and espionage in my gritty seedy stories. I have two books out by BIS Publications titled Snake Amongst Shadows(2014) and Shades of Falcon: The Crooked Deal Vol 2 (2024).  There will be more stories in the pipeline and collaborations that are connected with my pitching service,  my CE Adventure writing workshops and more importantly my merchandise pack. 

These projects will be manifested in time and will touch a chord. And that's where great storytelling in the  EXPENDABLE PI series will take to the fore. In other words everyone will relate to each story that I tell as a published paperback novel. It is the purest form of what I do and how I showcase my work to the world.

Hulk Hogan was a true professional and a consummate performer with his work in the entertainment industry. Well, I'm just a Brit-Nigerian with no axe to grind and nothing to lose except my pride as a self published author and Trainer.  

I emulate perfection with my stories and the late great Terry G. Bollea AKA Hulk Hogan was that for me simply because he was flawed and still stayed the best as a REAL AMERICAN.

REMEMBER the Rattlesnake's work is not done. He will RETURN.

MAKING IT A POINT TO SLAY THE BEAST

Hello Everyone,

I hope this message finds you all well. I have some exciting news. The very first  free Adventure writing session at Walthamstow Central Library E17 7JN on the 12th of July 2025 was a major success. According to some participants  it was exciting and they were all impressed. 

So what's next? I believe people should watch this space because I want to review my work.  One thing's for sure  the noble journeyman cometh back in a new guise.  

I intend to produce more juicy stories that feature  the Rattlesnake AKA the Expendable PI. And, I also intend to help local authors get their work noticed by showcasing my unique presentations and doing the educational research around it. 

This is in order to start the paid events that will come with a new platform that has to carry on from where things were left off with this one. So, let's just say I'm making it a point not to relinquish my aims to achieve all this. 

I will slay the beast that stands in the way of success. Now with that being said I BELIEVE WE ARE FOR SOME EXCITING TIMES. Need I say more? I don't think so. I guess everyone should watch this space.

I think I'm in a good position to see where I'm going with the things I have created. Now, with that being said I still have to ensure that certain things are co-ordinated properly.  For instance, the interviews done, The photos taken. The articles written. And more potently the time spent trying to resurrect what might seem like a lost cause. All in all I know I'm heading in the right direction. So do you like mystery, action and adventure with a blend of a spy thriller that comes with an aroma that spells danger? HELLO EVERYONE

The 11th of May was an exciting day for me because I had my first podcast of the year. It was a great interview and when edited will be found on YOU TUBE.

You thought you saw this coming?  Well, you ain't seen nothing yet and for good reason too. There will be more exciting adventures of the  RATTLESNAKE AKA The Expendable PI.

By the way, the photo below this piece is an old snapshot I took years ago with my dear friend Sam when my first thriller SNAKE AMONGST SHADOWS was launched at STROUD GREEN LIBRARY, QUERNMORE ROAD, STROUD N4.  

I took some snapshots with the podcast host Peter Okonkwo and those photos will be posted soon on my blog space. But how did I meet Pete and how did this podcast come about?

I met Pete Okonkwo the founder and host of the podcast show P ENGLISH LITRATURE (PEL) at the London Bookfair which was hosted this year. We got chatting and exchanged phone numbers and he then invited me to come on his podcast show when he found out I was a local crime fiction author. I eagerly accepted because I wanted to promote my newest thriller SHADES OF FALCON: The Crooked Deal Vol 2. 

Pete not only promoted my newest thriller he also promoted my Adventure writing workshop called the MECHANICS of ADVENTURE WRITING MASTERCLASS PROGRAMME and dubbed M.A.W! But, the most interesting aspects of the interview were revealed when the conversation I  had with Pete took me back almost ten years ago when I first met my very first critic. It all seemed surreal when I recalled how I was questioned by someone who didn't particularly like the title of my first mystery thriller Snake Amongst Shadows. And guess what? It happened at the very same place I met Pete. The London Book Fair!

Even though there were a few more reasons for doing this podcast with PEL I was so happy to have explored the dimensions that make you sail or fail in this business. And, I was equally happy to share my knowledge on learning how to maximise potential as an artiste especially when starting out on this journey. My Sojourn continues and only the good Lord knows what lies ahead.

LIFE IS LIKE BUILDING A  SANDCASTLE

Hello Everyone

I must admit sometimes creating and writing a book is like building a sand castle. And, that's because one has to apply common sense with some form of technique to achieve bringing to reality a must exist form of prose,  or fictional book in popular culture. 

So, therefore  when one tries to paint a portrait to unveil a tale that unfolds great storytelling in its best form.  We come to grips with the establishing of a lore that has the same kind of pressures to explore facets that relinquish doubt and builds trust and even inspires others to compete and spur a legendary rivalry within this format regardless of any genre . 

I thank the good LORD that I am successful at what I do. As a self published local author with an international appeal. I thank the good LORD for making me a unique strategic trainer and more importantly amongst other things a great storyteller. I really feel blessed to understand the dynamics and mechanics of a great tale. I don't take this gift for granted  and that's why I've come to realise that it takes planning, research and the likes of strategy to tell the best tales.

I remember when I was a boy my mother would take my sister and I to visit a family friend who lived near a beach during the Summer. We would play on the sand and build sand castles. And we did our very best trying to finish one because the sandcastles kept crumbling.

Life can be cruel. However, it broadens your horizon and sets you apart with experience. In this case, it shows how one can build or develop their vision of what they would like to achieve.  For example, when I was building those sandcastles with my sister I had to find different ways to ensure the sand creation was standing strong and firm on the ground. And, that's how I think life is viewed when you look through the lens of a writer or a creator. You develop a technique to spin a good yarn and in the interim find a relatable way to tell that story. 

Need I say more? I don't think so. Life is really what you make it regardless of all the odds stacked against you. If you prove or consider yourself brave, wise and courageous you will strive to do things differently and ensure you overcome all the challenges put in front of you. Remember, you're not just fighting. But, winning the battle as well. So, no matter what you think sometimes  life can be likened to a sand castle because you simply have to get back up whenever you fall. Just like the sand creation  that crumbles. You find a way to build it back up.

Talking about other things the free masterclass programme the MECHANICS of ADVENTURE WRITING dubbed M.A.W! is back by popular demand. And, it will be promoted in different libraries and community outlets in the UK soon. I can't wait to start training again using my niche in adventure writing to discover new writers and new trends to tell and showcase stories.  

There will be radio and podcast shows to attend too. All the shows are booked to talk about my mystery adventure books and training work in the community. And, last but not least there will be special promotions of my latest Whack JOB novel titled SHADES OF FALCON: The Crooked Deal Vol 2.

3RD DAY AT THE LONDON BOOK FAIR 

3rd Day at the London Book Fair

Hello Everyone,

I hope this message finds you all well, 

I found time to accompany my publisher Mr Michael Williams to the London Book Fair hosted at the Olympia, London located at Hammersmith Rd W14 8UX. 

The LBF is one of the world's largest publishing trade events. It brings publishers, authors, literary agents,  distributors, and industry professionals from around the world.  The LBF is also an event  to buy  and sell rights, discover new talent, and discuss the future of books and storytelling.  This major event in England is considered a big mainstay alongside the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Book Expo America.

Now, the LBF was scheduled to  start on the 11th to 13th  of March 2025. And I happened to be there on the third day with my mentor and publisher friend Michael. The CEO of BIS Publications and the research writer for the best selling British Inventors and Scientists series of books.  I was there to showcase my newest mystery thriller novel. Shades of Falcon: The Crooked Deal Vol 2 and promote my Adventure writing workshop dubbed M.A.W!-Mechanics of Adventure writing. This is where I get to share and educate the world about my kind of art,

Anyway, I didn't do much of that at the event and that was simply because we were engrossed with other presentations, For instance,  listening to other authors talk about their writing experiences and the tips they gave to aspiring authors who felt compelled to go down the same road.  I had a splendid time mingling with people and learning from others and in that time was invited to talk on two podcast shows, Lucky me. One of them was run by an American outfit.

 I had pondered  on what to do next with my training programme and the series of mystery adventure books I had created using the BIS platform Michael had provided for me. One thing was clear. The audio programme was calling out to me and I knew it was time to take a decision and go on that path and change the game forever.

So, what's next?

That brings me to tell you about my plans in the next few months. 

In my last piece I wasn't sure what I could do especially after the unveiling of the SOFAL thriller thrown into my lap like that. SOFAL means SHADES OF FALCON.  

Anyway, with that revelation I was thrown in the deep end. But, I triumphed in the end because my second novel is now published. And I have to showcase my work through the following alignments. 

For instance,

• Doing book signings in libraries, 
• Collaborating with different people
• Doing book launches
• Doing specific events
• Pitch selling
• Branding  

These are just some of the things I could do this year.  

There will also be speaking gigs on the menu.  So, I guess this is  my cue to say to you all, watch this space and my way to tell you get signed in. For Mac Logan will be prowling the streets again SOON. And, that means one thing. There will be more exciting stories featuring the expendable PI.  

I am a crime fiction writer, a born storyteller and an educator amongst many other things who takes pride in his work. I will be real busy with  my writing research in Adventure writing this year.  Hey Gang, STAY SAFE!

I can't believe the Rattlesnake mystery thriller novel  I wrote titled 'SHADES OF FALCON: THE CROOKED DEAL Vol 2 ' was finally green lit and published by BIS Publications. 

It took a while. But we finally got there. 

And, the comments, praises and the encouragement given in the form of short pieces written about it all has been somewhat thought provoking and amazing.

I really thought Christmas would come early as I told you in my last piece before the holiday. However, learning about this quelled my fears of not getting published and subdued the thought of not being good enough to write a world class thriller.

So, my second thriller book in the 'WHACK JOB'  series is now published. 

What next? I'm still trying to figure that out. But, I've come up with a few ideas which will  tie in with my collaborative efforts to  pitch and sell my work to the public domain. 

There are other ideas I would like to explore . But, right now I can do with some reflection time because I've  had a big sob and have beckoned on my ancestors.  My grandfather and my father including my aunt who passed away almost three years ago. All this seems weird without her around because she helped me a lot with this particular suspense story which wreaks of culture and identity. 

Anyway, I'm grateful to GOD who made this book possible. I'm also grateful that the BIS Publications team believed in my work and allowed me develop the anti-hero called RATTLESNAKE using their platform. In the meantime I will be weighing my options and looking at something different. I promise to write more books and tell more intrepid stories of Mac Logan. The Expendable PI.

 AMERICAN TV COP SHOWS AND HOW THEY INFLUENCED THIS WHACK JOB SERIES

 I grew up watching American TV Cop shows. And, the two I religiously followed at the time was 'TJ Hooker' and The Mod Squad. Both TV shows were thrilling and had  it all in terms of drama, action, adventure which had more sizzling issues that were themed with the times.  

The first tv show was based on a tough cop who was assigned a new job in the police force. It was to nurture a new way forward to fight crime off the streets. That was after his work partner fell prey to an incident on the street. The titular character was played by William Shatner of STAR TREK fame. The second show was centred  around three juvenile delinquents who were drafted in as undercover cops into the LA Police force in the late sixties. They were known as THE MOD SQUAD(1968-1973).  This popular tv show was also noted as an American television crime drama. These youthful cops were practically positioned to infiltrate criminal circles who enticed the youth of the day. In some respects  this was just an experiment. But it had proven successful as a police project.

This little piece is written and comes when I have  just learnt of the demise of one of it's stars MICHAEL COLE. He was the last surviving regular cast member from the series. It's a pity because the late Michael with his co stars was brilliant in the role of Pete Cochran. A Beverly Hills rich kid who was kicked out of his house by his parents to go live on the streets before he met  his two friends and co-workers Julie Barnes who was played by the late Peggy Lipton(Died in 2019) and Lincoln Hayes who was played by the late great CLARENCE WILLIAMS III(Died in 2021). 

The Mod Squad was and still is one of my favourite television shows. Simply because everything about it was grounded, realistic and cool. And the music composed for it was out of this world. Including the opening scene with the trio in it was not just the coolest opening it was smoking HOT. But, on the other hand 'TJ Hooker' had its perks  and this was because Hooker wasn't just an ordinary patrol cop on the streets he was an educated cop who demoted himself to take on extra curricular duties to fight crime.  The notion was brilliant and I must say that idea greatly influenced the creation of my WHACKJOB series. The storylines which mainly involved Hooker and members of his team were razor edge exciting and breath taking stories to watch on telly. And that had me going for a very long while until I decided to come up with the creation of this nut job named LOGAN-The Expendable PI.

These two American television programmes were instrumental to creating an impact with my stories. The Mod Squad was hip and very stylish and TJ Hooker was a police procedural series yet had all the hardcore elements of a mini spy thriller series. The two shows despite cancellation  due to budget cuts were ground breaking and ahead of its time. Enough said. 

The Rattlesnake RETURNS soon and his past actions come back to roost in an exciting mystery adventure thriller that will blow the mind of fan favourite readers all over the globe. You might think you saw this new adventure coming. Well, guess what? You ain't seen nothing yet.  Remember vengeance beckons in this action packed mystery thriller titled 'SHADES OF FALCON' .

I'D ALMOST FORGOTTEN IT WAS LOGAN'S BIRTHDAY TODAY

(5/12/2014). 

THE THOUGHT BRINGS BACK SOME FOND MEMORIES AND ONE BURNING QUESTION: 

WHO IS HE REALLY? 

I really enjoyed watching the new ALEX CROSS series on PRIME'S Amazon TV. And, I love ALDIS HODGE'S portrayal of the titular character of Cross. He wasn't just believable as a scarred fictional Black hero trying to protect his family and loved ones. It was mind blowing to see the challenges he faced while doing his job as a hotshot police detective and forensic psychologist consultant. It was also good to see on telly that Cross had an invested interest in saving other lives from the streets which brightened the colours of a darker and gritty hybrid form that was directly embedded within the conforms of high society. 

 The new Alex Cross series has definitely made me think and look long and hard at the future of my fictional sleuth named Logan. 

The first series was stimulating  and engaging and gripping. It was nothing short of jaw dropping and amazing  because  it had all those elements that make a good crime story.

 I'd almost forgotten that Logan's birthday is actually today.   I've been writing a new manuscript and I've also  been busy getting to know the needs of a new client I've just met.   

I received a phone call this afternoon from a family friend who not only extended his well wishes with congratulatory remarks. But did it with pure joy on learning that I was moving forward with my EXPENDABLE PI creation. My family friend had observed  correctly  that it had been a decade since the Rattlesnake had blazed onto the local scene of crime to fight the ungodly. 

You see, during all these years doing this, I realised with a Cousin's insight that I should make note of my creation's assumed birthdate. At first, the thought  was just a mere idea. But, the idea stuck and here I am now trying to convince everyone  that I don't have my birthday on this date. For lots of people think I do. And, that's why I've come to accept the obvious. They send me birthday  greetings. But the truth is they're saluting Mac Logan AKA the RATTLESNAKE AKA the expendable PI.

Anyway, never mind. My loss. From now on I won't try to convince anyone anymore that it's not my birthday. It's just LOGAN'S. 

However, the thought of doing all that brings back some fond memories. I've loved creating my stories. And I've loved every single minute doing it.  That's because no one thought my stories would last this long. 

But, here we are now a decade later listening and reading these stories I tell about this fictional character I created and in the definitive genre I invented him in. It's really amazing what the mind can achieve. 

As I mentioned I love creating the mystery stories I've written. For, I've always believed that storytelling is the best art form to express one's ideal. Good will always triumph over evil. And, although Logan is a local street level crime fighter he has been dubbed an anti-hero because some of his actions tend to cross the line in the pursuit of justice 

 I will say it again. I have loved every single moment of my own creative process even if that means revealing that the bad guys will give the good guys a hard time at the office sometimes,  So, only one thing remains the same in all this. And, that is that the ALEX CROSS series in my humble opinion is the perfect foil for the kind of stories I like to write or tell.  Dark and gritty tales that give one the chills. And, reminds one that stories can always be explored from a different angle.  

That being said, Logan's crime fighting days are not over yet and I have continued his exploits in a brand new mystery adventure thriller story that will come out soon. And guess what? I have pitted him against evil in its  most demented form. Yes. Mac Logan makes a huge comeback soon and I will continue from where I left off because there's one question burning on every reader's mind. Who the devil is he really and what happens to him next?
